Women Advocacy and Empowerment Highlights

  1. In March, Rorokenes was a guest speaker at the webinar “What does the future hold for women entrepreneurs in Indonesia?” hosted by ITC SheTrades, United Nations (@internationaltradecentre), and a guest speaker at the Indonesia Womenpreneurs Conference 2022 discussion hosted by Femina (@wanwirfemina, @feminamagazine).
  2. In April, Rorokenes provided support for the ratification of the TPKS Law. In addition, she was a guest speaker on Ibu Unik’s (@unik_oke) Instagram Live, “Becoming Empowered Women So They Are Not Deceived,” and a guest speaker at the ICSB Talk Ramadhan Vaganza event, “Becoming Multi-Role Women” (@icsb.kotasemarang, @womenpreneurcommunity.smg).
  3. May 2022 Rorokenes participated in the event “Empowering Women and Youth MSMEs to Promote Financial and Economic Inclusion” by KKI (@karyakreatifindonesia). Additionally, she participated in the fundraising event “Women’s Voices: Pentahelix Collaboration in Supporting CEDAW Ratification” organized by Pundi Perempuan (@indonesiauntukkemanusiaan) in July.
  4. In August, Rorokenes became a speaker at the Women’s MSME Financial Literacy Talk Show “Supporting KRPPA Semarang City” and in October received the Social Program Assistance from Bank Indonesia (@bank_indonesia) to Asmarandhana, an association that we empower.

Rorokenes Awards and Achievements Highlights

  1. In September, Rorokenes was selected as one of the 10 Local Products by Femina Women Entrepreneurs. This award was given by Femina (@feminamagazine) and Femina Women Entrepreneurs (@wanwirfemina). Rorokenes’ signature weaving, as well as our commitment to women empowerment, solidifies Rorokenes’ value as a local brand from Semarang.
  2. Entering October, Rorokenes is trusted to be one of the official merchandise for the series of events of the Indonesian G20 Presidency (@indonesia.g20). Rorokenes’ merchandise for the G20 event is a laptop bag made of woven Lurik fabric combined with genuine leather.
  3. On the 94th Mother’s Day in December, Rorokenes also received the 2022 Semarang City Entrepreneur Category Gender Responsive Figure Award. The award was given by the Semarang City Government (@pemerintahkotasemarang) and presented by the Acting Mayor of Semarang, Mrs. Ita (@mbakitasmg).
  4. Rorokenes also won the 2022 Tempo Circular Economy Award (TCEA) organized by Tempo (@tempodotco) and the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas (@bappenasri). Rorokenes won the 2022 TCEA for its implementation of the circular economy concept, including in our women’s empowerment program called Dananjaya Gita Asmarandhana.

Exhibitions & Fashion Shows Highlights

  1. Starting in March, Alhamdulillah Rorokenes was selected as an MSME to participate in Indonesia Modest Fashion Day at the Dubai Expo 2020 Indonesia Pavilion (@expo2020dubai). We also participated in INACRAFT 2022 (@weareinacraft).
  2. In April, Rorokenes was grateful to be able to participate in an exhibition at Mall Tentrem Semarang. In May, Rorokenes’ collaborative work with Asmarandhana (@asma_randhana) was featured in one of the G20 Presidency (@indonesia.g20) events in Bali. Rorokenes also participated in the Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center (@karyakreatifindonesia).
  3. In August, Rorokenes participated in the Central Java Sharia Muslim Fashion Show Festival at BBPVP Semarang, where we collaborated with designers Mr. Wignyo (@wignyorahadi) and Ms. Ina Priyono (@inapriyono_premium). Rorokenes also participated in the Fashion Show at The 1st International Conference on Women and Sharia Community Empowerment at JCC, collaborating with designer Anggia Handmade (@anggiahandmade.official).

In October, Rorokenes participated in the Sharia Fair exhibition presented by ISEF (@isef.id), and then, thankfully, Rorokenes was able to participate in INACRAFT on October at JCC. Last but certainly not least was our participation in the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (@jmfwofficial) at ICE BSD, Tangerang, in collaboration with IM Syar’i Designer (@im_syari).
