Education and MSME Empowerment Highlights

  1. In February 2024, Syanaz, owner of Rorokenes, was a guest speaker at a lecture titled “Building Up & Strengthening Resilience with Environmental, Social, and Governance.” At this event, which was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Syanaz discussed the pillars of sustainable marketing and strategies for designing sustainable marketing.
  2. In May 2024, Syanaz shared her insights in the SME Curator Training and Certification Program, highlighting the importance of MSMEs in the national economy and the role of curators in supporting product curation. Syanaz was also a guest speaker at a focus group discussion on creative industry law with the Central Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the National Human Rights Commission.
  3. In June 2024, Syanaz participated in the webinar “HBW Case Session with Expert: Improving Business Growth” by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, discussing low effort high impact strategies for business development. She was also a guest speaker at the Festara 2024 Talk Show in Solo, discussing the future of locally sourced bags and target market selection strategies.
  4. In September 2024, Syanaz was a guest speaker at the event “IKM Development in Strengthening Industrial Center Networks,” sharing ways to improve the capacity and networks of IKM to make them more competitive. She also participated in the talk show “Pikat Wastra Nusantara,” discussing the importance of branding in boosting the value of local products.
  5. In October 2024, Syanaz spoke at the Semarang City IKM Craft Workshop, sharing practical business development tips with creative industry players.

Women Advocacy Highlights

  1. In April 2024, Syanaz (@syanazwinanto), founder of Rorokenes, was one of the speakers at the Indonesian Women’s Seminar “Women at Work, Indonesia Shines”. At this seminar, Syanaz shared the story of how Rorokenes was founded and her experiences empowering women weavers.
  2. In September 2024, Syanaz was a guest speaker at the event “The Strategic Role of Trade in Promoting Economic Empowerment of MSMEs and Women-Led MSMEs.” At this event held in Bali, Syanaz shared her insights on how trade can be key to empowerment, especially for women-led MSMEs.
  3. In November 2024, during a sharing session titled “Leadership & Strategic Path for Founders” held by the Womenpreneur Community (WPC) Semarang, Syanaz represented Rorokenes and shared her experiences participating in the UNCTAD and AIBO Program Government programs in China.
  4. In addition, to this day we continue to partner with the Asmarandhana Association, which was founded by Rorokenes. Asmarandhana members are women who have children with special needs, are single parents, or are survivors of domestic violence. This is a tangible manifestation of Rorokenes’ commitment to women’s empowerment.

Exhibitions and Fashion Shows Highlights

  1. In February, Rorokenes was successfully curated for exhibition at INACRAFT at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). INACRAFT is one of the largest craft exhibitions in Asia.
  2. In August, Rorokenes participated in the Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). KKI 2024 showcased MSMEs with their best products. Rorokenes is proud to be one of them.
  3. In October, Rorokenes participated in the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2024 at ICE BSD City. This event was organized by the Ministry of Trade as a platform to promote Indonesia’s leading products to the international market.
  4. At the end of October, Rorokenes also participated in the International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF) at the Jakarta Convention Center. In addition to participating in the exhibition, Rorokenes also appeared in the Fashion Show Opening Ceremony in collaboration with Batik Jambi Ariny.

Rorokenes Awards and Achievements Highlights

  1. In March, Syanaz (@syanazwinanto), founder of Rorokenes, participated in the APEC Women’s Business Activator Program in Melbourne, Australia. The program aims to empower women-led businesses from ASEAN-Australia countries to access global markets.
  2. In August 2024, Rorokenes participated in the Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) event. KKI 2024, with the theme #HamajuonNagari, featured 350 MSMEs with outstanding products.
  3. At the peak event of the 2024 National Movement (Gernas) Proudly Made in Indonesia (BBI) and Proudly Traveling in Indonesia (BBWI) in mid-August, Rorokenes was selected as the recipient of the 2024 Central Java Gernas BBI BBWI MSME Champions Harvesting award.
  4. Furthermore, in November, Syanaz, as the founder of Rorokenes, successfully became one of the participants in the eTrade for Women Study Tour in China. This UNCTAD program provided an opportunity for 32 female digital entrepreneurs from 13 developing countries to exchange ideas, experiences, and innovative solutions, while strengthening their international networks.
  5. In addition, Rorokenes was also selected to provide merchandise for the 2024 Indonesia Africa Forum (IAF) held in Bali.
