Exhibitions and Fashion Show Highlights

  1. In April, Rorokenes participated in the Brand Adventure X Artisan Store exhibition at Ranch Market and Farmers Market. This event was initiated by Mas Arto Biantoro @artobiantoro and Brand Adventure Indonesia @brandadventure.id with the support of various parties.
  2. Entering May, Rorokenes participated in the Joglosemar Festival exhibition and fashion show at Borobudur Temple with the theme Artisan of Java. The Joglosemar Festival was organised by the Ministry of Industry @kemenperin_ri and the Directorate General of Industrial Development @ditjenikma. Additionally, Rorokenes also participated in the Gayeng Exhibition by the Central Java Provincial Government at Suntec City Singapore and the Atrium Mall Paragon Semarang. These activities represent the government’s support for the National Movement to Be Proud of Indonesian Products.
  3. In September, Rorokenes was selected to participate in the 17th Malaysia International Halal Expo (MIHAS) @mihas_malaysia. MIHAS is organised by The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and held in a hybrid format at the MATRADE Exhibition and Conference Centre (MECC) in Malaysia.
  4. In October, Rorokenes was curated to participate in the ISEF 2021 @isef.id series of events, including the Hybrid Exhibition and the ISEF Sustainable Fashion Show. Rorokenes collaborated with renowned designers like Thiffa Qaisty @thiffaqaisty and Defika Hanum @defikahanum. ISEF, initiated by Bank Indonesia @bank_indonesia, is the largest sharia economic event in Indonesia.

Women Advocacy Highlights 

  1. In March, Syanaz, the founder of Rorokenes, participated in the webinar “Trends in Female Leadership, Potential, and Challenges” in celebration of International Women’s Day. She then served as a guest speaker on IKa’s Instagram Live event, “Is the Issue of Violence Against Women Important?” in November.
  2. Meanwhile, in December, Syanaz was given the opportunity to be a resource person in the Sharing Session “Participation of the Business World in Gender Equality and the Elimination of Violence Against Women” held by FKKG Central Java @fkkg.jateng. Then also at the event “Ngobrol Penak (Women and Children) Sareng Mas Ganjar” held by DP3AP2KB Central Java @dp3ap2kb_jateng and attended by Mr. Ganjar Pranowo @ganjar_pranowo as the Governor of Central Java.
  3. In addition, Syanaz also had the opportunity to be a speaker at the webinar “Mother, Let’s Move Forward” organized by Radio Idola Semarang @radioidolasmg and Natur-E Advance @natur_e_indonesia

Community Empowerment Highlights by Rorokenes

  1. In February, Syanaz, as the Founder of Rorokenes, was given the opportunity to share about her business in the SME Training program by the Semarang Department of Industry (@disperinsmg).
  2. In September, Rorokenes held a weaving workshop for women in the Rorokenes cluster. In addition, Rorokenes also held online and offline training at the Semarang City Baznas Office with participants from the Asmarandhana women’s group. The Asmarandhana group will partner with Rorokenes in their work, becoming an increasingly independent and empowered group.

Awards and Recognition Highlights

  1. In July, Rorokenes received the BNI UMKM Heroes Award (@umkmheroes.id) which was given to Syanaz (Founder of Rorokenes) as a “Women Entrepreneur Hero” in the context of BNI’s 75th Anniversary (@bni46)
  2. In November, Rorokenes was selected as one of the 10 Best Scale Up Femina X Facebook Batch 2 (2021). This event was organized by Femina Women Entrepreneurs (@wanwirfemina @feminamagazine), in collaboration with Facebook #SheMeansBusiness and the Indonesian Ministry of Trade (@kemendag).

In addition, in November, Rorokenes was also selected as the winner of IGDS 2021 in the Design Product People’s Choice category and Best 20 for character-based finished product designs. The event was organized by IGDS (@igdsofficial) and the Indonesian Ministry of Industry (@kemenperin_ri) as the highest appreciation for national industrial product designers.
